About Sisterhood Direct

Q: What is Sisterhood Direct?

Sisterhood Direct is the only direct wine service of women, by women, and for women who want access to thoughtfully crafted and curated wines and the social currency it generates.

Think of Sisterhood Direct as your personal source for exploring and enjoying exceptional wines from Napa, Sonoma and the best California appellations. With Sisterhood Direct you have access to fun-to-fine wines that are shipped directly to your door, whenever you want them. No lines. No guessing. Never an empty glass.

Q: Is this a Wine Club / Is Membership required?

This is not a wine club and membership is not required. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the wines offered by Sisterhood Direct. If you know a Social Director, use their social code for special benefits and pricing. There is no commitment or requirement to enjoy our wines.

Q: Will I receive automatic shipments?

No. We only ship you wines when you ask. Simply select which 3, 6 or 12 bottles you would like to receive from our easy to use website and we’ll send your selection directly to your door, but not a moment before you ask.

Q: Will my credit card automatically be charged?

Your credit card will only be charged when you place an order.

Q: Can I gift wines to a friend?

Of course! Sharing and gifting wine is one of our favorite things. Use the lucky recipients address for shipping and we’ll send the wine directly to them.

Q: What is a Social Code?

A Social Code, or a special code assigned to each Social Director, is the way Sisterhood Direct Social Directors can share wines with a personal connection and special discounts. Social Directors can give this code to their friends and family, or Social Sisters, to use to buy wine at a discount on sisterhooddirect.com.

Q: As a Director, can I place orders for my friends and contacts using my social code?

Of course! This is a great way to make it easy for your Social Sisters to place orders. Please note that orders placed through your account, even with your social code, cannot earn commissions because you receive a special industry discount of 30% as a Director. This special industry discount cannot be combined with additional discounts unless we do a special promotion stating otherwise. Be sure to create new orders outside of your account ( you will need to make sure to be logged out of your account) for any orders you place for your friends and contacts using your social code.

Q: Who makes the wines?

Sisterhood Direct is a proud partner with Vintage Wine Estates, a leading company based in the heart of Wine Country. The wines provided through Sisterhood Direct are made by the Vintage Wine Estates wine making team lead by Marco DiGiulio and includes award-winning women Winemakers such as Nancy Walker of Middle Sister Wines and Windsor Vineyards, and Amy Ludovissy of Viansa Sonoma.

Q: Where are the wines made?

Sisterhood Direct wines are made in the Vintage Wine Estates wine making facilities located in Northern California.

Q: Who is Vintage Wine Estates?

Vintage Wine Estates is a collection of family wineries based out of Santa Rosa, CA. The wines produced from VWE come from vineyards as far west as the Sonoma Coast and across the Napa Valley. Delivering to on- and off-premise and direct-to-consumer channels, VWE is committed to producing quality products at our state of the art winemaking facilities.

Q: Have I seen these wines at a store?

Possibly, yes and no. The wines offered through Sisterhood Direct can sometimes be found in local retail shops and restaurants. Additionally, some of the wines are available exclusively from the winery to you.

Q: Can I visit any of the wineries?

Yes, please! We would love to host you for a tasting at any of the Sisterhood Direct affiliated wineries. Please contact hello@sisterhooddriect.com and we’ll be happy to help coordinate a visit.

Q: Are any of the wines Vegan?

At this time we do not have any vegan wines available. When necessary, fining agents are used during the winemaking process which can include egg whites.

Q: I found a particular wine cheaper at a local retail store?

We’re sorry this happened. Unfortunately, we can only recommend pricing to retail stores. That being said, please snap a picture of the price and give us a call, so we can adjust your order.

Q: Why can I only order wine in increments of three?

Sisterhood Direct wines are meant to be shared and enjoyed, and one bottle is rarely enough! We have set the order minimum to 3 bottles to extend our shipping benefits to you. Each order is in increments of 3, so you will have enough to share with your favorite Wine Sisters. Select your favorites to create your own social sip sessions. Sisterhood is a state of connecting and sharing, enjoy!

Q: How do I join?

Q: Are there any restrictions?

At this time, due to interstate and federal laws, our Social Director opportunity is available only those individuals who reside in the following states: California, Florida, and Texas. We hope to be able to assign Sisterhood Direct Social Codes to Social Directors who live in more states soon. If you live in one of the 42 states that we ship to, you are still welcome to order wines directly from sisterhooddirect.com at full price or at Sisterhood Direct special pricing using a Social Code from a Social Director living in California, Florida, and Texas. Q: Is this a Multi-level marketing company?

No. This is Your Opportunity to say “Hello” to a wonderful independent business platform called The Sisterhood Direct Wine Share Program. You simply share our fine wine brands with friends, family, and co-workers and earn money on all orders placed that use your personal Social Code. You share our wines and your clients get a personal wine connection—You.

Q: I don’t know a lot about wine, can I still join?

Yes! Enjoying wine is where it all starts. Every person and every pallet will always be different and evolving at a different level. At Sisterhood Direct we encourage everyone to share, learn and enjoy together.

Q: Can I host a wine tasting party?

Yes! We make it easy with one of our tasting kits, complete with tasting notes and tips. For party hosting ideas, visit our website sisterhooddirect.com.

Commission Structure and Payment Terms for Registered Social Directors

Q: When are Social Director commission payments issued?

As a Social Director, you will receive a 15% commission on each order placed using your assigned Social Code. Once a month, Sisterhood Direct will process and make payment via check to you to be mailed standard USPS – (Day 10 of the following month).

Q: Why haven’t I received a commission payment?

If you haven't yet, be sure to submit your completed W-9. This is how we pay you for all your orders. Download W-9
If you have received a commission email with your commission payment amount and a check has not arrived within 7-10 business days, please feel free to reach out to us at Sister Support and we can check on the status of your commission payment.

Q: Does Sisterhood Direct take taxes out of my commission payment?

No, since our Social Directors are independent contractors, they will need to claim all of their commission payments and pay taxes according to their individual income requirements.

Q: My contact forgot to use my Social Code

Feel free to have your contact call us or email our Sister Support team at hello@sisterhooddirect.com with your Social Code, and we can apply your discount to her order.

Q: How do I reset my password?

Feel free to visit sisterhooddirect.com and visit our login page. From here you can reset your password, or if you like, email us at hello@sisterhooddirect.com and we would be happy to assist! If you've reset your password, you will have received an email with a complicated temporary password in it. The temporary password is case sensitive, we suggest you copy & paste to ensure it is entered correctly. If you are continuing to have problems accessing your account with the temporary password, please contact Sister Support at (800) 204-9463 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.

Q: I forgot my social code

That's no problem! Simply login at sisterhooddirect.com and your can view your Social Code anytime. Still having trouble? Feel free to contact us at Sister Support and we can retrieve it for you!

Wine Shipments

Q: My wine hasn't arrived?

We normally ship by UPS or other private carriers. For an accurate shipping estimate, add your items to the cart, and use the shipping rate calculator to enter your ship location. If you need your wine by a particular day, please notify us when you place your order so we can help you choose your best shipping option.

States that have special shipping laws for alcoholic beverages can take longer. Please allow additional delivery time for AZ, DC, IL, MA, MI, and NJ.

UPS or Fedex will make up to 3 delivery attempts before your package is returned to us. Should you have any difficulties receiving your wine, we are always happy to help. Please contact Sister Support or call us at (800) 204-9463 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.

Q: How do I check on the shipment status of an order (for a friend or myself)?

Once your order ships, a confirmation email with tracking information will be sent to the email address associated with the order. Should you have any issues receiving your tracking information, we welcome you to contact us at Sister Support and we can help you locate your package.

Q: I need to change the address?

You are welcome to change your address online after logging into your account at sisterhooddirect.com.

Q: Why is an adult signature required?

Federal and State law mandates that all alcohol orders require an adult signature for delivery.

Q: Why 3 Delivery attempts?

We use UPS as our preferred shipping carrier for Sisterhood Direct Orders. Because a signature is required for a full delivery of your order, UPS will attempt to deliver your wine three times before returning it to our warehouse as undeliverable.

Q: Why can we only ship to select states?

Since the repeal of prohibition, the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages have been regulated by individual states. Each state has its own laws. Rarely do they coincide, and even more rarely do they allow an out-of-state company to sell wine without maintaining a license and inventory in their state.

Q: Why do you recommend using a business address?

Please note that we are unable to ship to a P.O. Box and that an adult signature is required upon delivery. We kindly request that you please send your wine to a home or business address where an individual at least 21 years of age is available during regular business hours to sign. By law all alcohol orders require an adult signature for delivery.

Q: Can I return my order?

We hope that you are completely delighted with your wines! If you are dissatisfied for any reason, simply call us to arrange for a pick-up and you will be supplied with a replacement, a credit or a refund. To return or exchange an item, please complete the following steps:

  1. Please contact us by phone (800) 204-9463 or email hello@sisterhooddirect.com and clearly explain your dissatisfaction with the product.
  2. Due to State and Federal laws, if for some reason you cannot return the contents, then you will receive a credit, refund or gift certificate if it is a gift. Please do not discard contents of the bottle if you plan to return for an exchange. If it is a quality control issue please re-cork the unused portion for lab analysis purposes.
  3. Once we receive your return item(s) we will credit your original payment for the full purchase price and your replacement will be reshipped.
  4. If we need to replace a wine due to damage in transit, please allow 1-2 weeks following receipt of your customer service request for your replacement to arrive. Please help us deliver your order to the correct address by verifying delivery addresses carefully. Errors or changes in delivery instructions that incur additional charges will be passed on to you.

Note: The credit card used for the original purchase will be credited in the amount of the product sale. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your bill.
